The car could travel on pure electric power for a range of about 80 km, and with the gasoline range extender, the total range was over 480 km. The Karma offered two driving modes: "Stealth" (pure EV) and "Sport" (with the gasoline engine engaging to provide power). The driving experience was smooth and quiet in EV mode, with a satisfying surge of torque. In Sport mode, the engine would engage, adding a unique sound to the experience.
